Social Rx Release Version 2.3

This week we have launched our new release of Social Rx, which includes several changes, particularly to user interface and functionality. This article will outline and explain the main changes that you can find in Social Rx Version 2.3.

Tagging

Social Rx now offers the ability to add tags to patient cases. This is flexible and allows you to add any tag that you’d like. For example, you may wish to tag each case with a RAG rating, whereby ‘RAG rating’ is the tag category, and ‘Red’, ‘Amber’ and ‘Green’ are the tags. In addition, we will soon be adding the ability to report on the tags that you have created.

To add a tag, select ‘Add Tag’ at the top of the patient’s case. You can select the tag category and then the tag, adding a note to the tag if necessary. To remove a tag, click on it and then select ‘Remove Tag’.

Tags are set up in the Local Admin section of Social Rx, under ‘Customer Configuration’. Here, you can create new tag categories with a name, default colour for the tags and whether or not the category is mutually exclusive.  If mutually exclusive is set to ‘yes’, users can only select one item from the category. If 'no', the user can select any number of the tags. When creating a new tag, you can give the tag a description, choose the category it will be in and add a tag colour.  There are a number of default tag colours to choose from or you can create your own custom colour.

Patient Precis

We have added several items to the patient precis section at the top of a patient’s case, including the GP Link, Linked Cases and Safeguarding buttons.

The GP Link button shows when a case is linked with a GP system. By clicking the button, you can see which system the case is linked to. You can also change the ‘Share All Data’ toggle to ‘No’, for example if your patient isn’t comfortable with their data being shared with the GP. In this case, only SNOMED codes will be sent into the GP system.

The Linked Cases button will appear in the patient precis if the case is linked to another case within Social Rx. This may be if the same person has been re-referred into social prescribing. On clicking the Linked Cases button, you can view the list of linked cases and click to go into any of the linked cases. At the point of referral, if there is an existing case with the same NHS number or the same surname and date of birth, the referrer can choose to link the cases.

Another new item in the patient precis is the ‘Safeguarding’ button. This allows you to view any safeguarding incidents that have occurred or record any new incidents. Note that this button can be turned on or off by the Local Admin in the ‘Customer Configuration’ section.

You can now also click on the ‘Status’ button in the patient precis to add a new status or view previous statuses.

Referral Form

We have added some optional, new fields in the referral form that can be filled in by GPs, admin staff, link workers, self-referrals, etc. The new fields include:

  • Referral pathway
  • Power of Attorney
  • Social prescribing goals

These fields can be switched on or off by the Local Admin in the ‘Customer Configuration’ section, under ‘General Configuration’.

All fields can be edited or added to in the ‘Referral Detail’ section of a patient’s case, by clicking on ‘Edit’ on the right-hand side.

Help Section

Social Rx now has a help button accessible via the blue navigation bar on the left. By clicking on the ‘?’ button labelled ‘Help’, you will be taken to the Social Rx Knowledge Base which includes user guides for every section of Social Rx, release notes and video tutorials. You can also submit a support ticket here for any queries or technical issues by clicking ‘New Support Ticket’.

Other Features

Other new features in Social Rx Version 2.3 include a more secure password policy which now requires a symbol in your password, and the addition of new wellbeing / mental health assessments including GAD7, PHQ9, EQ5D and I-ROC. If you would like any of these assessments to be added to your Social Rx, please get in touch.

In the Directory of Services, you can now search, via an ‘Advanced Search’, by category as well as by service. An example of a category could be ‘Mental Health’, which is tagged against the services 24/7 helpline, counselling and support groups, for example.

If you would like to go through any of the new features on a call with us, please get in contact.
