Social Rx Release Version 2.11

This release includes a new feature, SMS messaging and also a number of small changes and bug fixes.  SMS Messaging can be set up for appointments (confirmation or reminder) and to send custom messages.

For further information on the other changes and information on the bug fixes in this release, please refer to the Release Notes.

SMS Messaging - Appointments

SMS Messaging can be set up for appointments. You are now able to send SMS messages for appointment confirmations and appointment reminders.  SMS Messaging is an additional paid feature in Social Rx. If you would like this feature, please contact your account manager.

When you have SMS Messaging switched on, you will see an additional area when you are booking in appointments:

The lower section now contains the information regarding SMS Messages.  The top section details the clients contact preferences. If they have declined or not set Contact by SMS, this area allows you to make changes.   In addition, the clients mobile number is displayed.  You can change this here and click Update Client Information to update the clients mobile number.

Please note, it must be a valid UK mobile phone number for the SMS messaging to be sent.

The SMS message that will be sent is displayed in the lower section:

The SMS message is automatically populated as you select the appointment date and time.  This message template is the default but you can ask us to make amendments to the template to customise to your preference. Please note, there is a character limit of 160 characters for a SMS message.  We can create multiple templates and assign a template to a communication type if required. In addition, if you would like your users to be able to edit the SMS message that was generated, we can switch that feature on too.

Once you have selected  your appointment time, the SMS message will be fully populated. The blue tick shows that a message will be sent and the contents are shown on the right.  The message will come through to the mobile phone with Social Rx as the sender.

The SMS Message will be sent to the client for the confirmation at the time of the booking. The reminder message will be sent at 8am on the day before the appointment.  Please note, the appointment reminder time is configurable and we can change the time that it is sent on the day before the appointment.

SMS Credits

The SMS Messages work on a credit system.  If you run out of credits, you will see a warning message when trying to book in the appointments.  If you are low on credits, please contact your account manager to arrange a top up. When you run out, you will see the message below displayed.

SMS Messages - View Messages

SMS Messages can be now be sent for appointment confirmations and reminders.  When messages are sent to clients, you can view them in a number of places within Social Rx.

In the case view, you can see the SMS messages in the client information header. It states the number of messages in the button (highlighted below).

If you click on the SMS Messages button, you will see the messages that have been sent or are waiting to be sent.  The messages will be either pending or delivered for their status. You can see the Message type; status; status date; the phone number the SMS was sent to; and the message sent.

When you set up an appointment with a reminder, you can also see if an SMS Reminder has been added in the Scheduled Appointments table (SMS Reminder highlighted below):

SMS Message History (Local Admin)

There is an additional SMS Messages page for users with Local Admin permissions.  They can access the page through the Local Admin menu item and then by selecting SMS Message History.  This page shows all of the SMS messages for the customer.

SMS Messaging - Send Custom Messages

Custom SMS Messages can be sent to a client.  This is a configurable feature which can be switched on or off.

To send a custom SMS message, the user must click on the SMS Messages button on the top navigation bar shown in yellow below.

Once pressed, the user can click on the Send SMS Message to send the custom SMS message.  If the client does not have a valid mobile number or has not consented, the you will need to update these details in the referral details area.

Once the user is on this screen, just type in the message you wish to send and then press the Send SMS Message at the bottom.  You can only send up to 160 characters in this message.

Once sent, the message will appear in the table at the bottom. The messages will be either pending or delivered for their status. You can see the Message type; status; status date; the phone number the SMS was sent to; and the message sent.
